Week 22
Late again, but at least it is before the start of a new week.

Tradition
It is a tradition to get your picture taken on the bridge in front of Multnomah Falls.

Black
Charlie, our black dachshund, sitting in his favorite chair.

Strange
I thought it was pretty fantastic and strange how the leaves had been stained onto the cement.

Tricks
Tirion did not want to have her picture taken, so she crawled behind the couch, laughing the whole time.

Treats
Tirion, enjoying a treat of a raspberry-filled, powdered doughnut.

Harvest
This is a very small pumpkin that is in one of the planters on Main Street in downtown Pendleton.

Child's Point of View
The kids could see themselves with the web-cam on my laptop. They were having all kinds of fun.

Week Twenty-Two: Ashli

This week was fun, I enjoyed the beautiful weather and the festivities of Halloween.  We got our shorts out for the last time this year and the boys got to wear their costumes for the first time too.

Tradition:
I carried out my mom's tradition this year by making the boys Halloween costumes myself.  I think they turned out pretty well.

Saturday we carved our pumpkins, which in our house means the children pick out the most intricate designs and the parents end up with carpal tunnel!

The finished product - this is what Caleb picked.  I'm happy with the result!

Black (and white):

Iris was having a little chat with the pumpkin.

Tricks:

On Saturday, a cruel trick was played on me.  My beloved iPhone fell into the toilet.  This is how it has spent the last three days.  Thankfully, today it was unearthed from the rice and it still works!!!

Treats:

Pumpkin cookies the boys and I made on a rainy day.
I have spent the week trying to keep little hands out of the Halloween candy.  Not very successfully, as this picture reveals.

Harvest:

We harvested the seeds from all of our pumpkins to roast - this may be my favorite part of Halloween.

Child's Point of View:

We had a very warm, windy day on Thursday so we flew our kite.
Caleb learned how to fly the kite himself - he was having a blast!

Week 21 - Michelle

I think I got my directions mixed up!?  For some reason I was thinking there was an In and Out included in this week's list.  Oh well, I'm always running in 2 different directions anyways . . .

UP
Pinterest has some great ideas.  Check out these pumpkin seeds sprouting!

 In?
This was my "In", but I'll throw it in here anyways.
I think Cosmo had a stomach ache this day because she stole pizza and marshmallows from out football watching party.  She looks rather sad . . .

 Left, Right, Forward

The Kindergarten took a field trip to the pumpkin patch.  It's the best field trip ever!  This hay maze is the most fun!

Backwards
I was sitting there at Freebirds eating my taco lunch and blurted out "backwards"!!
This is their logo.

 Down
I'll save the best for last.  My kids were appalled when they saw Grandpa had a wolverine golf club cover.  After that football loss, it needed to be destroyed.
Down with the Wolverines!!!

Week Twenty-One: Ashli

I did not take that many photos this week, but somehow I managed to get all seven for the first time (last week didn't count since they were from the archives)  We had the amazing and unexpected opportunity to go to Game three of the ALCS last Tuesday in Detroit.  What a game! I used my zoom to get the first three photos I've included in my blog.  They weren't the sharpest due to zoom, lighting and movement, but you can definitely see who's who.

Left:
Here is left hander Prince Fielder taking a swing.

Right:
My Favorite Tiger - Right Handed Pitcher, Justin Verlander.  He is awesome!
Down:
The view down to the field from our seats.  It was a long way down there.

Up:
My boys love to play with the neighbor girls.  This day they had filled the trampoline with leaves.  What fun!

Forward:

Since Caleb learned how to ride his bike without the training wheels, it's his favorite thing to do.

Backward:

Her is me, backwards.  :-)

Diagonal:

My little tree hugger.
That's it.  Hope you enjoyed them.

Week 21 - Amy

LEFT
Head "left" to the underground tours.

RIGHT
Exercising my "right" to vote.

UP
They were working on refinishing the side of this building, so I took a picture of the worker "up" on the scaffolding.

DOWN
A "down" feather "down" on the ground.

FORWARD
Facing "forward" to sing at the Children's Museum's Oktoberfest.

BACKWARD
Tirion, aka Rapunzel, giving a "backward" glance.

DIAGONAL
This is Winn playing a sitar at the Farmer's Market. A sitar must be held on a "diagonal" to be played. He's a rather eccentric indie  musician. The look on his face paired with his posture cracks me up. It just screams, "I'm gonna getcha!"
