Week 15 - Michelle

Back to School

I totally cheated on this.  We went back to school August 24th so I used my picture from that day.  I officially have 3rd, 2nd, and Kinder students!

End of Summer

End of summer means fall flowers.  I picked up these Cockscombs in the grocery store!

Looking down
Looking down the long street that Miles will attempt on his skateboard!

At Work
I have been busy helping my Mom move from 1700 square feet to 900 square feet.  Can you say Mega Garage Sale?!

On My Plate

My mother-in-law makes a great Sunday dinner!  Top picture is pork stuffed tomatoes and stuffed tofu and bottom is Egg Cake.  Her garnishes always impress me.

Clutter

Peanut butter jars always come in handy for clutter!

Week 15 - Amy

WEEK 15

Back To School
School doesn't start until September 17th here. We went to open house this week, though, so the boys could  meet their teachers. Kieric will be a 4th grader and Dagny will be a Kindergartner. We got Tirion a backpack so that she wouldn't feel left out.

End Of Summer
The end of Summer here begins with Round Up. Round Up started this Saturday with the dress up parade. Kieric rode on the church float and they won first place.

Looking Down
Looking down on Dag and Tirion eating their doughnuts, waiting for the parade to start.

At Work

I couldn't pick just one photo for this. I participated in the Warrior Dash this weekend and it was hard work. It was a 5K with 12 obstacles. At least half of the trail was on a very steep uphill grade. My mom took photos for me.

This is one of the less dirty obstacles.

I was covered in mud by the end.The last obstacle was going under barbed wire, walking through a mud pit and sliding down a muddy hill.

After the race, everyone washed off in a small pond. Needless to say, I took a shower when I got back to my dad's house.

Clutter
All of these shoes were donated by runners. They will be cleaned up and distributed to those in need.

On My Plate
I made a cheesecake from scratch for the first time. It was a pecan lavender cheesecake with blueberry lavender sauce. It was so good that it was gone in two days and I had a coworker tell me that it needed to be entered in a contest.

Week 15 - Melissa

Back to School

Waiting for the bus on the first day.
We are in preschool, 1st, and 5th grades this year.

End of Summer

The leaves are changing and the sky is still blue.  There is no snow in the air yet, but it is getting chilly.

Looking Down

Looking down river of the Boyne.  This is a launch spot off Spring Street.

For my husband's birthday, we went zip lining at Wildwood Rush here in Boyne.  This is loooking down one of the canopy bridges.

I figure Aisha will like the leading lines on this one.

This morning, I went for a photo trip with my father in-law.  This is Boyne from the air looking down Lake Charlevoix.

We have been trying to get out in the plane for a while now, and luckily this morning was perfect.

At Work

We take the first week of school off every year to get the to-do list done and enjoy the end of summer.  This week, my husband built a fence to our back yard.  This latch was the hardest to get matched up and working properly but he got it done on the first try!

Clutter

Our front porch has a good collection of clutter.  It has become a catch-all for when we get home.  Notice bathing suits and towels on the drying rack, kites, coolers, a tent, golf clubs... We are at the begining of re-doing it and hopefully it will have better (neater) storage when we are done.

(My sister just got a rash.)

On My Plate

My husband's Birthday Breakfast at Cafe Sante
Eggs Benedict

This week, I made my Aunt Deb's Monster Cookies.  I haven't had them since she moved to Hilton Head Island and have missed her baking so much.  They are yummy!

week 15 - Aisha

Week 15
This was a big week in the Newenhouse household. My oldest Ben, started Kindergarten, all day every day! Travis started Preschool three days a week. We had our last day of daycare last week, they have been going for three days for the past three years. I think I was more upset about it than they were. :( To top it all off, Ben, just tonight has learned to ride his bike without his training wheels. He is an official two wheel bike rider! Where have my babies gone?

BACK TO SCHOOL

AT WORK (see photos below)

Senior shoot, evening time. Best time is morning sun, and evening sun. Very rarely would you go out midday. That would put the sun directly over head, Not ideal lighting specially for portraiture photography.

END OF SUMMER (see photo below)
This is some kind of ground cover that grows on a embankment on the side of our house. I don't know what it is called. It has taken only about three years to cover the entire thing. Pretty, and last until mid fall.

LOOKING DOWN (see photo below)
Ben and Travis found a fuzzy Caterpillar. They thought it was super cool. Travis liked it crawling on his shirt. Once it touched his skin or got to far up his shirt he got a little nervous. So here he is LOOKING DOWN onto his little fuzzy friend.

ON MY PLATE (see photo below)
Shiskabobs- chicken, steak, mushrooms, and onions. Naked snow peas blanched on the side. The only seasoning I used was three tablespoons of A1 for the shiskabobs. This was a good meal, not only for my husband and myself but for the kids. They LOVED the snow peas. Also Ben ate the onions and tried a mushroom! Yay!! I'm trying to take a page from your book Ashli. It seems to be working a little :)
