Week Ten - Aisha

Week Ten

This week has been one of my busiest photo weeks yet this summer! Family shoot, Senior Shoot, Family Reunion shoot,  Baby Shower. With my camera around my neck so much you would think this would be a cake walk. I tried but did not get all 7 yet again. I will one of these weeks. After going through all my photos tonight I did manage to get a few off the list.

Games

Here we have Travis playing one of our home made ring toss games in the back yard. A stick off from a table and some pipe cleaners formed into rings lead to several hours of outside fun.

Games

I have to give credit to Ashli for this one. I tried out the ice excavation craft she got from Pinterest and it was a HUGE hit!!!

Rings

Three years ago I had to get my rings cut off my finger because of swelling. Because of the cost, (them being platinum) we kept putting the repair off. Last Friday we got the call that they were done! I now have my wedding bands on my hand! Here is a photo of them newly repaired and polished. I had to do something spectacular to showcase this beautiful symbol our love.

Victorious

This is my cousin Amy's little sweetheart Paelyn. She is 6 months old and came to visit me for the afternoon. I haven't had such a small child in such a long time, I was concerned that I may have lost my touch. This is a photo that captures our stay together. She was so good, such a happy little girl. I feel this was a very victorious moment for me.

Country

Right now driving down any country road you will see these flowers (weeds) I'm not sure what they are called. This is what I think of when I think of a back country road.

Week 10- Theresa

I don't know why, but this week was especially hard for me..
I think that I was trying too hard to get the pictures, when I should have just
been snapping away.. oh well.. here's the photos I did get!

Country-
Our old deteriorating barn is all country to me!

Games-
Adalyn has been impossible to feed lately,
it's like she's playing games with me..
trying to play or making smiley faces at Daddy all the time!

Victorious-
Aidan was beyond ecstatic when he filled up his sticker card this week..
we keep track of his good behavior & he is rewarded by it,
this time with a coveted G.I. Joe toy that he had been wanting!
SO glad we have found a system that works perfect for him (& us!)

Week 11's Challenge!

All right Ladies!

We are into the dog days of summer now... so called because of the greater number of dogs that start acting out after getting rabies earlier in the summer.  So concludes the science teacher's lesson for the day.

So, let's take a moment to explore the wonders of summer!

Pictures for this week:

Happy shooting my friends!

Anne: Week 10

Hello all... it was a rough week here in California for the Horton-Weis Family.  Painful dental work, sick baby, and a husband away for a conference.  Thank goodness for my amazing in-laws! They are such a help when the #@^$#@ hits the fan!

Week 10 Pictures - Wow Amy... inspired list.  I couldn't do it justice this week though.  Just too much going on!  I was able to come up with a picture for everything except Flag... which is a shame because I live in such a multicultural area and could have gotten some amazing shots!

                 Torch

I made a torch out of a lint roller and yellow post it notes.  You can see Max lovingly stoking the torch here... moments before he put it in his mouth and started noming at it.  Seriously... do all babies love eating paper as much as Max does?

                                                                                                  Ceremony

I've been taking a picture of Max eating each new food.  It's become a thing.  Here you can see Josh feeding Max some homemade avocado mixed with formula.  He wasn't too excited about it.

                                                                 Games

Max is such a boy's boy.  He loves it when I stack up his cups so that he can knock them down.

                                                                                                            Victorious

Here's Max (sans helmet... he had a fever at this time and so he got a break from the head remolding process for a little while) with a victorious grin after a later game of knocking down cups.  Gotta love those dimples!

                                                                 Country
I wasn't able to take a new picture for this picture... so I dug through some pictures I took when Josh, Moby the Wonder Cat and I drove cross country to move to California.  We were in awe of the amazing (and HUGE!) windmills!  This one is in Wyoming and I think it is stunning.

              Rings

Another one of Max's favorite toys.  Rings!  The often double as anklets and bracelets.

As my Dad would say: Good Enough!  Thanks for the challenge Amy!  I had a lot of fun with our first week!

Week Ten - Amy

The Olympics. Early in the week I was thinking, "What was I thinking when I made this list?" But later on in the week it all came together.

Monday
TORCH

This is the nightlight in our bathroom. It changes colors. I set the shutter speed on the fireworks setting and I think it looks very torch-like.

Tuesday
CEREMONY

This week at church we had  the communion ceremony. I love spending time in the Lord's presence.

Wednesday
GAMES

I've been teaching the kids how to play dominoes. Kieric prefers setting them up and knocking them down to actually playing the game.

Thursday
COUNTRY

Our town sits in the middle of miles and miles of wheat fields. Well, it's not all wheat, but it is all crops. Anyway, nothing says country like a barbed-wire fence.

Friday
FLAG

Those are Pepsi and Mountain Dew flags at the top of the water slides at the Aquatic Center in town. We have spent several hours there this Summer. Kieric loves the water slide and actually cried today because he didn't get to go down it. Just as he was going up the stairs, they called for the pool to close and he had to go back down.

Saturday
RINGS

Our garden is yielding some nice cucumbers. We cut some up and put them in a jar of pickle juice.

Sunday
VICTORIOUS

This week Shane and I celebrated our anniversary. Eleven years of marriage, yeah, I'm feeling pretty victorious. He drives me crazy, but he keeps me sane.

Week Ten - Ashli

This week's theme was not all that difficult, however, I did not manage to take all photos of everything on the list (I know big surprise, right?).  I do have photos for five of them though.  Next week my personal goal is to get all 7!  Here ya go:

Torch
The boys discovered that, if they put a cup over their flashlight, it turned into a torch of sorts.  I got this photo by setting my shutter speed as long as it would go, 8 seconds.

I really liked this photo of the campfire. It looks alive, and I love how there is a piece of wood glowing almost purple.
Games
The boys were playing a relay game with the pogo ball. I like this one because it shows the motion, but his face and the ball are still in focus.
I liked this one because it freezes the motion, and I like the giant shadow, even though most probably wouldn't like the evidence of the flash.
I don't know if this is the greatest photo ever, but it makes Quinn look like a giant, while still having something interesting in the background.  Mostly it happened because it's really hard to get a photo of a boy bouncing on a ball straight at you. :-)

 Country

I couldn't choose between these two so I'm adding them both.

I actually took this from the moving truck somewhere around Middleville, Michigan.  The sky was amazing.

What says country more than a bouquet of wild flowers (aka weeds)?

Rings
Our rings.  They still look pretty good eight years later.
Victorious
This week Quinn finally mastered pedaling his tricycle.  I was beginning to think it was hopeless. He's giving me a weird look because I'm practically laying down in the street to get this shot.
 See y'all next week!

Week 10- Bobbie

Games
My husband has the "guys" over once a week to play random games .
This week they really nerded out and played some D and D, yes i am embarrassed :)

 Country
This week we were able to take the kids to a farm to see there new piglets.
They had a blast, the owners even let the kids take home some corn and fresh eggs.

Flag
I did not see any flags but decided to capture the colors while the kids were busy painting rocks.

Victorious
For me this is definitely a victory, while the kids were napping I cleaned and organized the playroom
it was quite the task. I felt great once it was done, even though it will only take the kids five minutes to destroy it again.

Week 10 - Melissa

TORCH

Mmmm... smores!  Although the kids all torched their marshmallows, my husband did an excellent job getting his a nice golden brown.

CEREMONY

A community toast at sunset to Lake Charlevoix voted by USA Today the first runner up as best lake in America.

GAMES
This is two of my boys and my nephew, Max.  They are playing tic-tac-toe with sidewalk chalk, black rocks and white rocks at my mom's campsite.  I love the toy in Sam's mouth - it reminds me of old men sitting around the poker table with cigars.

COUNTRY
What says "Country" more than the Boyne Falls Polish Festival Mud Run?!

This was our first time attending this event (hard to believe, I know) and my son, Sam, says it was "EPIC!!"

I couldn't decide between my photos so I picked two of the muddiest.

FLAGS
Here are the flags my dad flies on his sailboat.  My Sam went with him, my sister, and two cousins to bring the boat back from Harbor Springs where he won 2nd place in the Ugotta Regatta.

VICTORIOUS
I have been trying to get a good shot of the moon for years.  Who knew that going for a walk while camping would be the day I would succeed?  I couldn't decide which to post, so I posted them both.  I had to put the camera on a post to steady it so I could open the shutter and they are just slightly blurred; still, I am thrilled with how they turned out.
