Week 19 - Melissa

Apple

A caramel apple from Kilwins is one of our favorite treats!  Alex didn't quite understand how you are supposed to bite the apple and opted to lick it instead.

My mother in-law made us a YUMMY apple pie today!  Tyler picked out chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream for on top.

Leaf

This was a really cool tree out at the state park.  The leaves didn't fade/blend like most leaves do and instead looked blotchy as if their tips had been dipped in color.

Sweater

This is an old sweater of my mom's that I have had for at least 15 years.  I like to joke at work that it is vintage from the 80s but really, I love it because it is just a well made Woolworth's sweater that has held up all these years.  It keeps me warm in the middle of the winter - even when I'm not wearing a jacket.

Cool Morning

All last week Lake Charlevoix had fog rolling at the surface and it was really neat to see the sun come up and shine on it.  THIS week, it was raining, gloomy, and windy.  Luckily, I took this shot on 31 just outside Bayshore heading to Petoskey Monday.  The sun was peeking out of the trees and the rays were beaming through the morning fog.  I hadn't even seen the list yet!

Fall Color

This time of year out at Young State Park you can look across Lake Charlevoix as the sun sets over Whiting's Park.  The pinks and oranges of the sun setting really accentuates the colors of the trees.

Pumpkin

The three little cuties are from Kiteley's Farm Market.  The bigger one is from my dentist's office.  When you get your teeth cleaned in October, they give you a pumpkin.  I picked out this little one because of its perfectly round shape.

Halloween Decor

Again, one of my mother's old treasures - she used to keep a small candle in the cauldron but I just put it out for show.  She was broken in half once (Adam?) but Super-glued back together.  I really don't know why I keep her, but she is probably the only consistent Halloween decoration that is in my house.

Week 18 - Michelle

This week I was busy helping my Mom and Stepdad move into their new place 1 mile down the road.  They had a lot of stuff that just did not fit into their small space.  A lot of it traveled from Michigan to Florida to Texas!!  (Including my long lost Pump Up the Jam single in cassette!)

Well, I missed a couple this week, but here are my best:

Comic Book Day
My middle son loves to draw comics and Wimpy Kid pictures.  Here is one I came across this week.  Not quite sure what is going on here?!

 Love Note Day
This is my treasured love note from my oldest son.  He made it last year in 2nd grade and I have it framed on my desk.  When he is a teenager, I will bring it out to remind him of his love.  ;)

 Crush a Can Day
How about Open a Can Day??  Ha!

 Native American Day
Here is a beautiful painting my Mom was selling in our garage sale.  Any takers?

 Coffee Day
I started drinking daily coffee last year, and I needed an extra dose for running a garage sale!

Week 18- Aisha

Week 18

This week we have started a new diet for 21 days. Its a reset for your body and a really big challenge. Because of this I have been off my game most of the week. 1-2 hours for meals is a lot of prep time and I am so VERY not used to this! Here are my pics for the week. I got four of them and am happy with the photos I got!
P.S.   My husband and I are doing very well with the diet. No processed food, minerals and all organic. We have to prepare specific foods for every meal down to the size. The next two weeks are Vegan. Lord give us strength!!! :)

LOVE NOTE

This is a photo of my Mom and Dad at Grandparents day. My boys were very proud to have them at their school. Even though they both would not sing or even go down to sing! The preschool teacher actually took my parents back into the gym after everyone else left so they could do a private showing just for us! We are so lucky to have such a great school!!

COFFEE DAY

Since on our diet we have eliminated all drinks EXCEPT water. So here I surrounded the empty coffee cup with the 7 + cups of water (16oz) we drink each and every day!!

My husband has not been without pop since he was 15 years old. He is 41 years old now. Can't believe he is doing so good! Only one caffeine headache on the first day. Because of all the water we drink it does not effect him!! AMAZING what water does for you!!

COMIC BOOK

Todd got out his toys from his childhood for the boys to play with. Here are a some of his action figures taking over breakfast! The boys thought this was very funny!!

PUNCTUATION

Because of the diet I have been late for most things in my life this week. This works for punctuation day because I was ON TIME for lunch this Sunday! So Yay for ME, for feeding my kids at a responsible time!! (I know....I know, I should get an award for Mother of the year!) lol!

Week Eighteen - Ashli

This week was HARD! It required a lot of planning and a little bit of traveling for me.  That said, I am happy with what I came up with.  It forced me out of my comfort zone a little bit, and  I think that's fantastic!  Here are my photos for the week:

National Comic Book Day:  "Spidey Baller"
I purposely had Caleb put on his Spidey suit for this - but then just let him do his thing.  He's been practicing his dribble lately.  Notice the one sock.

National Crush a Can Day:
He tried really hard to do it this way

But resorted to the foot when that didn't work

Native American Day:
I cheated a little on this one.  This is a statue outside of a church in Santa Fe - I couldn't help it.  I think she's beautiful and I wanted to share! P.S. Does anyone else think she looks a little like Lisa Ling?

National Coffee Day:
This is my favorite coffee cup.  I don't let anyone else use it for fear they might break it.

Some mornings it feels like the whole world is black and white until you have your first cup right?

Gold Star Mother's Day:
This is where I got out of my comfort zone.  I took a little drive out to the Fort Custer National Cemetery to get these shots.  These were graves of WWII veterans and their families.

The sky was really that blue! I didn't edit it at all!

This is the drive into the cemetery - hundreds of flagpoles - very cool.

Week 19 - The List

I figured I would take it easy on all of us this week and go with a fall theme. Most of these things are everywhere you look right now. Have fun ladies!

Week 18 - Melissa

HOLIDAYS

Going into this week, I knew it was near impossible to get all the photos.  I really got some great ideas from my friends on-line and I hope they like what I did with their ideas.

National Punctuation Day

I'm not quite sure what he was doing for this photo, but it was pointed out to me that it kind of looks like quotes - so I'm going to call this "Air Quotes."

Love Note Day

I had another idea for this day just in case I couldn't get a good "heart" out of one of the kids.  I got lucky with a near perfect heart on the third try.  Spidey is such a cutie!

Crush a Can Day

I thought there may be a lot of crushed cans this week so I went in a little different direction with an actual "Crush" can.

Coffee Day

We don't have coffee in our house.  No one here drinks it.  I do, however, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate every once and a while.

Gold Star Mother's Day

Veterans Memorial Park here in Boyne has a GREAT tribute to the area's soldiers and veterans of the armed forces.
