Week 13-Bobbie

Week 13

Morning Time

Kaylynce being silly during breakfast as usual. She is quite the character.

Shopping

This is the menu for the week that I post on our chalkboard in our kitchen. This week I flubbed and put the lunch items first then breakfast and dinner. We pre plan all meals and do all of our grocery shopping for $50 a week

School supplies

Our craft cupboard, my children are not school aged yet so this is as close to school supplies as I could get.

Outside

My little man tromping through our garden, I cant keep him out of there :)
Also a pretty flower at a family members home.

End of summer

Playing at the park in our hoodies

Hairdo

This gave me a reason to actually style my hair. I use to all the time but with two kids who are 1 and 2 who's got the time :)

Attitude

Draven giving his dad attitude this day had been a long one and he was without a nap.

Week Thirteen - Ashli

I really enjoyed having the concepts this week.  However, I did not find that I was able to match them up with the list very well.  I took lots of photos using the rule of thirds and leading lines -- they just didn't fall into the right categories!  I did manage quite a few though:

Morning/Hair Do(n't):
Caleb and Quinn eating their breakfast while we were camping.  As you can see, they both have some serious bed head!
Outside:  I have too many outside pictures to choose from.  Here are my top three:

I like to think of this one as a Message from God - I love how the sun's rays are peeking out from behind the cloud.

I took the boys to  a new park and we went exploring down the path.
I captured the sun just before it set - I did not enhance the colors at all - they were beautiful!

End of Summer: Every year Battle Creek has two hot air balloon races.  The second of these occurs the third week in August and signals the end of summer for our town.  I don't know if the beauty and awe of these beautiful balloons will ever wear off.  They are spectacular!

Attitude!  As some of you read on Facebook last week, I got my kids to try Indian food for the first time at home.  They liked it! So we decided to try taking them with us to our favorite Indian restaurant.  Here is how they felt about it respectively.
Caleb loved it! He tried two different dishes, and ate lots of rice and naan. He has been asking for it for dinner daily since this night.

Clockwise from the top: Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Masala Matter Paneer and Basmati rice  Yum!

Quinn ate rice and naan and a couple bites of chicken, but he wasn't overly excited as you can see.  :-)

Week 13- Theresa

I really had a hard time this week & thought that I didn't enough
pictures.. turns out, I got them all!

I really don't know if any of the photography principles were represented in my
pictures, I kind of forgot about them as I was snapping away this past week.

Morning Time:
I cannot function without a cup of coffee first thing in the morning!

Hairdo:
Aidan's hair is getting very long & looks like a rat's nest in the morning lately,
thank goodness we're getting it cut today!

Attitude:
Adalyn, getting fussy!

Shopping:
Here's Aidan enjoying our new (to us) couch that he helped pick out.. he picked it out of several that we were looking at on Craigslist. Good shopper! :)

School Supplies:
My boy starts kindergarten this year & it was SO fun getting his school supplies with him!
I love all the back to school hoopla, but I am a bit sad that he will be going to school all day.

Outdoors:
We went to a neighborhood garage sale last week & walked around for awhile after shopping, Aidan loved these black eyed susans that were planted by one of the houses.. going to have to plant some here for him!

End of Summer:
We took the kids & went with some friends to Full Blast, they both loved the waterpark & Adalyn
was pooped after playing in the splash pools.

Week 13- Aisha

WEEK 13

This week I didn't realize how busy I was until I looked back on my camera. I had my in-laws up with my sister in-law and family from Vermont. My babysitter had a baby, went school shopping and had a few photo shoots.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES (see photo below)

SHOPPING (see photo below)

Ben and Travis had a ball getting everything on their list. Ben had an official list this year, he is starting Kindergarten. Travis is starting his first year of Preschool.

HAIR DO (see photo below)

Before I take the kids for their haircuts I let them spike their hair up and use product in their hair. They thought they were soooo cool!

OUTSIDE (see photo below)

I took the Failor family out this week for their end of summer photo shoot. I could of used this for end of summer but outside fits too. The two oldest boys Jacob 5year old and Noah 3 years old are clones of my boys when it comes to personality. It is so funny to see them play. Seriously, there must of been something in the water. My boys are extremely close in age.

MORNING TIME (see photos below)

This is my Nephew Jared. I took him out for his first Senior shoot of the summer. I will have another turn at his home in Vermont. They were here visiting so we thought we would get a head start. This is a morning shoot and he rocked it! Boys are so hard to shoot sometimes. It was so nice to have someone that photographed so easily!

ATTITUDE (see photo below)

This is Caleb the youngest of the Failor children from above. We were at the end of the shoot and he was not going to wait for his bottle. Here he is giving us a little attitude before we stopped to feed him.

END OF SUMMER (see photo below)

We all have been waiting for the "end of summer" for the birth of baby Brayden.
This is a photo just after my babysitter Kaylee gave birth to her son Brayden. This is one of my most favorite photos. Kyle the daddy was so full of emotion, he saw his dad and embraced him with eyes full of tears. I can't help but to tear up every time I see this amazing moment caught on camera. On the left you see Carol (Kaylee's Mom) kissing her daughter as she gazed onto her new Grandson.

Week 13 - Amy

Morning Time
This is driving up Cabbage Hill into the Blue Mountains at 7:30am. I was transporting a couple guys up the mountain for a bike ride down it for work.

Shopping
Yes folks, those are Christmas decorations. They were in the local Dollar Store this week. We always stop at this store to pick up snacks and drinks before heading to the pool. I was shocked to see Christmas decorations out already. Really? Christmas is four months away, people!

School Supplies
Sometimes it seems like the strangest things find their way onto the school supply list. Kieric's list had a ream of copy paper on it. That really ticked Shane off. He doesn't think we should have to help supplement the school's budget by buying classroom supplies. I reminded him that it was his child's education and he needed to just buy it.

Outside
The boys' favorite activity this Summer was going to the Aquatic Center. They are such water babies! They have spent so much time in the pool that they have very distinct tan lines from their swim shorts.

End of Summer
Well, Summer does not officially end around here until after the Round Up. That happens in two more weeks. This is the Let 'Er Buck statue outside of the Round Up grounds. It is the official symbol of the Round Up and various depictions of the Let 'Er Buck buckaroo can be found around town. They even make a whiskey named for the town with the Let 'Er Buck symbol on the bottle. Pendleton Whiskey. It's actually a great whiskey, very smooth and better than Crown Royal in my opinion...if you're into whiskey.

Hair Do
Big brother doing little sister's hair. He just brushed it for her. He likes to be a big helper.

Attitude
...and this is her attitude about Dagny helping her. She likes to do everything herself these days. She pitches a major fit and throws big attitude around when she doesn't get her way.

Week 13 - Michelle

Week 13 - Michelle

I've never considered myself a photographer, but I truly enjoyed learning about the concepts last week.  They were a challenge for me, though, and I think I did better last week without even knowing it! (i.e. UT Tower)

This was the last week before school started, so the boys and I squeezed as much summer out of the week as we could.

Morning Time

We had a one night stay at Lost Pines Resort, about 40 minutes from Austin.  This was my delicious breakfast buffet meal.

Attitude
Staying at the resort seriously adjusted my attitude.
Aaaah, relaxed . . .

Hairdo
 Post-swim 'do

Shopping
I was fretting this one.  Shopping is not one of my favorite things (unless it's online).  This holds true for the boys, as well.  We went to the San Marcos Outlet Mall and I found them waiting for me in this Tigger Boat (playing on the iPhone, of course).

Outside
All of the city pools were closed today, so this is what we had to resort to.

School Supplies
Thank goodness for the prepackaged school supplies!

End of Summer
We are ready for school in the morning.  This is my signal that summer is over.
283 days 'til next summer.  Boo!!

Week 13 - Melissa

(Sigh) I admit it, I went into this blog post tonight excited that I had all seven topics but I realize now, I failed.  There was no shopping by me this week and so I missed one again.  With making the list this week, I will do my VERY best to get them all but how do you photograph air...

Morning Time

The construction is on again on Boyne City Road and now on M66 also making travel to and from Charlevoix a bit of a challenge.  It makes the wait time just a little shorter.

Here is the Ironton Ferry at sunrise.

School Supplies

I actually have a drawer of school supplies.  I have found that my boys "need" things periodically throughout the year and mostly let me know the night before.  When there are great sales on crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, notebooks, etc. I generally pick up a handful of each and toss them in the stash.

Outside

We took a hike at a new adventure spot at the Hill Preserve this week.  We were surprised to find the views of the lake.

End of Summer

The leaves are changing up north!  It won't be long before the full color is here!

 Hair-do

We spent Sunday on a random road trip and ended up having a picnic at Brimley State Park.  Sam decided to prove he could swim underwater in Lake Superior - but not without getting a head full of sand.  This is his "do" after hand-brushing the sand out.  (This also falls into the "attitude" category.)

Attitude

Brotherly attitude here... They were fighting about how to and who was bringing the kayak up from shore.  A few minutes before, they were having so much fun...

As a self proclaimed "pre-teen" there are struggles to realize when Mom and Dad say we are going on an adventure, that means a good time.  There is some whining and complaining but low and behold, without fail, fun is had by all in the end.

Bonus Shots!

Just for Aisha, I took a few "extra" photos for fun.

 Rule:  Leading lines

This is a very pretty pine (I believe a blue spruce) from our hike at The Hill Preserve.

Rule:  Rule of thirds

OK, so this isn't so much "rule of thirds" but a third of the moon.  Ha ha!!  It was so bright this night so I couldn't help myself.  The photo isn't as clear as my full moon pictures but I didn't have a post to rest the camera on.  I took this out the car window.  (Yes, I was stopped.)

In an attempt to replicate (not duplicate) that gorgeous church photo of Aisha's, here is the Pt. Iroquois Lighthouse.  This shows both Rule of Thirds and Leading lines.
